RPE automatically parses dates and renders them as instructed ( date formatting property in the docspec or date pattern property in the template) but it can only do so if the element’s type in the schema is a date/time type.
What is RRDG and how does it relate to RPE?
RRDG stands for Rational Reporting for Document Generation. This is the document generation solution used by Rational tools that want to provide document generation capabilities from their own UI. RRDG does not provide a UI, it is the consumer products that provide that.
Current consumers of RRDG are IBM Rational DOORS 9.3, IBM Focal Point 6.4 and 6.5, IBM Rational Requirements Composer 2.x
During this week we’ve made a significant breakthrough updating RRC 18.104.22.168 to use RRDG 22.214.171.124 in place of the aging RRDG 1.1.1. In addition to bug fixes and performance enhancements the update opens many possibility in the design of the templates executed within RRC.
The latest and greatest RPE release, 1.1.2, is on its way and will be delivered as planned.
